General Meeting -
Fall 2005 Hunt Test Qualifiers and pictures The Labrador Retriever Club of Albuquerque was founded in 1973 to promote knowledge and understanding of the Labrador retriever and its versatility. The LRCA is AKC-licensed and is a regional specialty club of the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc., the parent organization of the Labrador Retriever breed in the United States. For more than ten years, the Labrador retriever has been the most popular breed in the country. The "Lab" makes a wonderful family dog, a fine hunting dog, a valuable service dog, and a renowned search and rescue dog. As with all purebred dogs, Labrador retrievers are bred to a "standard," a blueprint that defines how a Labrador should look and act. The Lab temperament is one of the defining hallmarks of the breed. This standard has been in place since the early 1900s, with few modifications.
